Christmas Gin Cocktails

I bet we had you at gin! We love cocktails at any time of the year. There is something more magical about Christmas Gin Cocktails though. We think its only fitting that our first post on our brand new Gin Journey blog should be some festive gin cocktails. It is the season to be Merry after all…

Strawberry Santa

Strawberry Santa

The Strawberry Santa is sweet and subtle, perfect as a pre-Christmas dinner drink! It’s a beautiful red colour like the big man himself! If you have a cocktail shaker, we recommend giving it a really good shake.

This means the egg white will rise to the top upon pouring giving a festive creamy white layer on the top.

If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, placing in a screw top bottom or jar provides the same effect.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Put the gin, lemon juice, orange juice, Campari, sugar and egg white in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake well for 15-30 seconds.
  2. Pour the cocktail into the glass, and garnish with some strawberries or a cocktail cherry.

Rudolphs Martini

Rudolphs Martini

Wonderfully cold and crisp like a walk in the snow. We have livened up the classic martini recipe with our Mint and Lime gin, giving it a light and brighter taste.

This is the easiest of our Christmas gin cocktails! Our Rudolph Martini can be made in advance and stored in a bottle in the fridge. Perfect for a Christmas Eve treat.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Pour the gin, vermouth and olive brine into a mixing jug and stir.
  2. If you’re storing to use later, decant into a clean flip-top or screwtop bottle. Keep it chilled in the fridge. Garnish with green olives before serving.

Winter Fizz

Winter Fizz

Who doesn’t love a good gin and champagne cocktail? This cocktail looks fancy but is extremely easy to make. If you don’t have sugar syrup then don’t panic. It’s easy to make your own by dissolving 250g caster sugar in 250ml hot water.

The bubbles of the champagne mix beautifully with our Lavender and Lemongrass gin to create a light and lively drink. If we are honest though – all our gins taste amazing in this cocktail so feel free to use your favourite!

Ingredients

Method

Put the first three ingredients in a shaker, fill with ice and shake hard, then strain into a flute and top with champagne. Garnish with some lemon peel.

Festive Punch

Festive Punch

A big bowl of festive punch is bound to put a smile on anyone’s face! You can use any one of our gins in this punch blend. Prosecco and gin – what’s not to love!

  • a teaspoon of grated ginger
  • 3-4 sprigs rosemary
  • 1 clementine, finely sliced

Christmas Negori

Christmas Negori

Time to give the herby, deep drink that is Negori a Christmas update! The addition of cinnamon, star anise and bay leaves add a festive flair, without drowning out the taste of the gin.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Put the cinnamon, cloves, star anise, and cardamom in a dry frying pan, and toast for 5 mins, or until the spices are just fragrant. Remove from the heat and leave to cool.
  2. Tip all the toasted spices into a medium jar and pour over the gin. Seal and chill for 48 hrs to infuse.
  3. Strain the infused gin through a sieve, and fill four to eight glasses with ice. To mix the cocktail, tip 25ml each infused gin, vermouth and Campari into the glasses, then garnish with orange slices and bay.
